Parent Evening – Behaviour is Communication Presentation

Thursday, May 11, 2017  7:00pm - 9:00 pm 32868 Ventura Ave., #105, Abbotsford, BC BEHAVIOUR IS COMMUNICATION presented by Barbara Laird Please note an earlier start time for this presentation Three little words, as important to believe as “I love you.”  In this workshop we will explore the theme that “no one is bad” and that  all behaviours are a person’s way of communicating with us. Every person  is affected by a myriad of genetic, environmental and “people” factors  and experiences that need to be understood in order to figure out why  they engage in certain behaviours. Once the reasons for the behaviour  are identified, understood and often predicted, then we, the adults can work towards helping a person communicate in ways that are successful.

As a support group, parents get together on a monthly basis to chat, discuss, connect, and generally support one another with knowledge and ideas to help us through certain challenges of raising a child with special needs. Join us for a casual evening and meet other parents from our community. You are welcome to check out our Lending Library for any resources you may find helpful and interesting. Refreshments will be served.
Thank you for your interest. Registration is now CLOSED.
The Down Syndrome Centre is supported by a grant from the Abbotsford Community Foundation Smart & Caring Community Fund
