The goal of inclusive post-secondary education is to make full inclusion the norm, rather than attempting to ‘normalize’ students with developmental disabilities. The BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (BC-IPSE), under STEPS Forward, provides inclusion support for students with developmental disabilities to enroll, pursue studies and engage in extracurricular activities at their local college or university. STEPS Forward facilitators provide the inclusion support required for the student to learn, engage in campus activities, complete course material, and find employment. As non-crediting students, they complete academic work to the level of their ability leading to a Certificate of Completion issued by their post-secondary educational institution. We welcome Arden Duncan Bonokoski to discuss the possibility of this in the Fraser Valley. Refreshments will be served.
Thank you for your interest. Registration is now CLOSED.
The Down Syndrome Centre is supported by a grant from the Abbotsford Community Foundation Smart & Caring Community Fund
