“I Can Dance” class for people with Special Needs
This class is called “I can dance” and runs every Saturday from 1:00-2:00pm starting in September. The class is intended for kids (of all ages), however, if there was a group of adults interested in a similar class we would be able to accommodate them as well. They will be learning a variety of dance (Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Tap Ballet, etc.) so the students can try all different styles.
Our dance teacher, Marrissa, has been teaching with us for several years and has experience teaching children with special needs.
Disneyland – If you go to Disneyland or Disneyworld, check with the Customer Service counter before entering the gates as they give a pass to persons with disabilities who do not have the ability to stand in line. This pass enables the person in question, and the family accompanying them, to go to the front of the line on all rides.
Easter Seals Camp– offersfunded camps for children between the ages of 6 and 18.
Freestyle Dance Centre – 32828 Ventura Ave., Abbotsford – a new dance class for people with Down syndrome in the teens and older age range.

Inspirations School of Dance and Fine Arts
– Special Needs Dance Special Needs Dance is a mix of Ballet, Jazz and Musical Theatre. Classes will be fast paced and fun to keep students interest. We are very excited to be offering classes for special needs students and the teacher is an Early Childhood Educator with Special Needs specialties. We hope to offer classes that will be more accessible to our special needs students, that they can enjoy their class without always having to be singled out as the one who is getting trouble. All students will get to perform onstage at our Year End Show in June.
Special Olympics – for a nominal yearly fee offers a variety of sports for people with disabilities over the age of 8 – there is no maximum age.
The FUNdamentals program is offered to 7-10 year olds.
The Active Start program is offered to 2-6 year olds.

Valley Stars Cheerleading – 35033 Kootenay Drive,Abbotsford, BC, – offers a Special Needs class (Dynamo’s) once a week for children over the age of 5. Dynamo’s offers cheer, tumbling and basics of gymnastics and cheerleading to those with special needs.We work on self confidence, friendships, team bonding and overall pride.
