Programs and Services Overview

The FVDSS offers monthly Parent Evenings from September – June.  These are casual evenings which allow parents to meet other parents, share stories, ideas, and support.  We sometimes have guest speakers at these evenings, and our Lending Library is always available during this time.

As well as our monthly Parent Evenings, we also organize an annual Walk for Awareness, Christmas Party, Family Picnic as well as various other activities throughout the year to help foster friendships between the people with Down syndrome, as well as their siblings and parents.

In our New Parent Visiting program we welcome new families who are expecting or have just welcomed a child with Down syndrome into their lives. If you are an expectant or new parent, or know of one, our trained visitors would love to meet with you and offer any advice and support we can.
