Early Development Music Therapy Workshop

for children with Down syndrome Ages 1–10 Years

Music Therapy can address the following goals:

Speech and language

Improve gross and fine motor development

Physical and kinesthetic

Psychological, Social and Educational enhancements

Dates: Wednesdays Sept.19 – Nov.14, 2018 (excluding Oct.31st– Hallowe’en Day) Time: 5:00 – 5:45pm Location: 105-32868 Ventura Ave., Abbotsford, BC Fee: FVDSS Members – Free Non-FVDSS Members – $25 Participants: maximum of 10 children Parent participation required Ages: 1—10 years old

The Fraser Valley Down Syndrome Society (FVDSS) is a parent-run support group based in Abbotsford, B.C. for families of persons with Down syndrome in the Langley to Hope areas (including Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge). We offer support and resources for parents and caregivers, as well as therapies and programs to aid in the cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional development of people with Down syndrome. In our New Parent Visiting program we welcome new families who are expecting or have just welcomed a child with Down syndrome into their lives, provide them with information and offer support.
