Services to Adults with Developmental Disabilities (STADD) offers Navigator services for transitioning youth and their families.  STADD also provides more streamlined access to information, government services, and other supports.

STADD Navigators:
·        help youth and their families connect with C.L.B.C.
·        help youth and their families connect with many cross-ministry supports
·        help youth and their families connect with other organizations
·        help youth and their families to see what supports they may be eligible for
·        work with the youth and their family to build a plan that is based on their goals, hopes, and aspirations for their future in adulthood.

The transition to adulthood is an important time for young people with developmental disabilities and their families and starts while they are still in highschool. It can be both exciting and challenging, a time of uncertainty but also new possibilities. Decisions must be made about where the young adult will live, whether they will continue their education or find a job, what kinds of activities they would like to try, and how they can meet new friends and be part of a community.

Why wait until graduation? Be prepared for this confusing time by gathering information early on. Come hear our local Navigators for STADD speak to us about how this program can help us help our children transition to adulthood.
