Fraser Valley Down Syndrome Society

The Fraser Valley Down Syndrome Society (FVDSS) is a support group for families of persons with Down syndrome living in the communities from Langley to Hope.

We are a parent-run society made up of families from many different backgrounds but with a significant commonality. In each of our families there is at least one member who happens to have Down syndrome. This commonality has brought us together to form a unique and supportive community committed to sharing ideas, celebrating successes and helping one another through tough times.

We offer support and resources for parents and caregivers, as well as therapies and programs to aid in the cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional development of people with Down syndrome.

To make these resources and connections available to all families with a family member with Down syndrome in the Fraser Valley, our society does not charge a membership fee and provides these resources at either low or no cost. Through donations, fundraising and community support we are able to provide these services to help our children grow to be valuable and contributing members in our community.

In our New Parent Visiting program we welcome new families who are expecting or have just welcomed a child with Down syndrome into their lives. If you are an expectant or new parent, or know of one, our trained visitors would love to meet with you and offer any advice and support we can. We even have a special gift for you!

Please join us as we continue to grow and learn together. We welcome you with open arms, hearts and minds.

We offer a special welcome, and congratulations, to new families along with an invitation to call for support and to ask questions.
