Assistive Dogs – A service dog is a type of assistance dog specifically trained to help people who have disabilities. Those disabilities may include visual difficulties, hearing impairments, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), seizures, ambulatory issues, mental illness, diabetes, autism, and more. Child Development Centre (CDC)– this centre offers early intervention and services and programs that are very beneficial to families and children with special needs.Some of the services they offer are: Infant Development Program, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy (O.T.), Physical Therapy (P.T.), Supported Child Care, Family Support Services.A referral from your doctor is needed.

Infant Development Program (I.D.P.) – this program offers support and advice on the development of children with special needs.They generally will visit you in your home once a month, and will sometimes time their visits to coincide with a therapists visit.If you have concerns on the development of your child, this is a person who can put you in touch with the proper therapist.As they help with infants, the child is discharged from their program when he/she turns 3 years old.

Description: This program believes that anyone can improve their health and well being with a regular program of stretching and exercise while releasing tight muscle tissue in a 94 degree, private pool. Workplace Training in Attitudes, Skills, & Knowledge (TASK) certificate– This eight-month program offers students with disabilities the opportunity to gain self-management and employment skills and develop realistic career objectives in their chosen field while in the classroom. Students will participate in a series of employability workshops such as WHMIS, Food Safe, and SuperHost, etc. They will learn basic computer skills, including word processing and using e-mail and internet. In addition, students gain on-the-job experience while on community-based work placements. Overall, the program will provide the employability, skills, and experience necessary for students to find employment or gain access to further training at UFV or elsewhere.
