What is a Walk for Awareness?

Our Walk for Awareness brings together families and friends of people with Down syndrome to promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down syndrome and raise money to support the group’s activities.

It is a fun-filled day spent, rain or shine, at Mill Lake in Abbotsford with family and friends. Organize a Team of buddies for your child with Down syndrome to show support.

Enjoy the activities, take a team picture, and bring your team spirit on the 2.2km walk around beautiful Mill Lake!

Our Walk for Awareness is the FVDSS’ most popular event. The monies raised through everyone’s fundraising efforts go to supporting the group’s activities of providing support, information, events, and programs for families with children with Down syndrome in the Fraser Valley.

Family, friends, volunteers gather to show support for people with Down syndrome.

Thank you to all who helped make last year’s event on April 26 a huge success!
